Visiting forces talks with UK start

The Philippines and the United Kingdom (UK) have begun formal negotiations for a proposed Status of Visiting Forces Agreement, the Department of National Defense said Friday.
Defense Undersecretary Salvador Melchor Mison Jr. led the Philippine panel, while Amy Senior, head of the Indo-Pacific at the UK Ministry of Defence, led the British side.
The talks focused on strengthening defense cooperation and interoperability between the two countries’ armed forces.
