The problem is nobody listens to prophecies anymore. People go about their lives, ignoring Marian warnings, no matter how grim, until they hit people right smack in the face — when it is too late. It is like the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. History wrote of many warnings based on documents, but they were all ignored. Nobody saw the urgency — until it was too late.
Way back in 1973, visionary Sr. Agnes Sasagawa, just like St. Padre Pio, developed fresh wounds on the palms of her hands, giving her extreme unbearable pain, the so-called Stigmata.
The stigmata and the suffering of Sr. Agnes and St. Padre Pio were a way of Our Lady issuing a dire warning to Mankind that the God of Wrath has replaced the God of Mercy, who may soon bring down His hand on Mankind due to their indifference.
The Three Phases of Marian Messages to Mankind

Disasters are theologically related to sin, as described by the “tribulations” in Phase 3, above. Always, the Blessed Virgin is very patient, giving a lot of time for the message to sink in.
Sister Agnes delivered the message from Our Lady, warning of dire things to come if people did not listen. Is this related to the specter of a nuclear holocaust, that geopolitical analysts claim is now a possibility, hovering over the horizon like the Sword of Damocles?
Sister Agnes said: “As I previously told you, if people do not repent, God will send a terrible punishment. When this happens, it will be more severe than ever before.”
The Akita apparitions related to Sister Agnes were approved by the Vatican as authentic, one of the most “well-documented, well-investigated, most scientifically-verified supernatural events of the 20th century.”
The local bishop conducted an eight-year investigation before concluding that the apparitions were authentic and recommending approval to the Vatican. Pope Benedict, then Cardinal Ratzinger before he became Pope, reviewed the case and gave his approval.
The Akita messages were broadcast on Japanese national television, spreading quickly worldwide. Yet, the messages were mostly ignored, read and shelved.
