As the senators weigh the evidence that would determine whether Vice President Sara Duterte would remain in office, a nationwide survey found that public satisfaction with her performance had improved.
The latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, conducted days before the opening of Duterte’s impeachment trial, gave the Vice President a net satisfaction rating of +31, up from +29 three months earlier.
Duterte remained comfortably ahead of the country’s other constitutional officials.
Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian registered a net satisfaction rating of +18, Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo posted +10, while Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy scored +8, all of which SWS classified as “moderate.”
The poll, released Thursday, was conducted before House prosecutors began presenting their case before the Senate impeachment court, accusing Duterte of improperly using confidential funds and threatening President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Despite the impeachment proceedings, Duterte’s ratings remained steady.
Since late 2025, she has consistently topped the SWS satisfaction rankings among key government officials.
Mindanao power
Her net satisfaction rating stood at +28 in November, +29 in March, and +31 in June, showing little movement even as political tensions between the Marcos and Duterte camps escalated and the impeachment case advanced from the House of Representatives to the Senate.
The survey was conducted after the political alliance that swept Marcos and Duterte into office in 2022 unraveled into an open confrontation.
Since then, the two camps have traded accusations. The House launched inquiries into Duterte’s use of confidential funds before lawmakers ultimately voted to impeach her. The Senate formally convened as an impeachment court earlier this month.
While the latest SWS release did not include regional figures, Duterte has consistently drawn her strongest support from Mindanao, where previous surveys placed her net satisfaction rating in the “excellent” category. Her ratings in Metro Manila and Balance Luzon have been lower but remained positive.
The release came days after SWS reported that President Marcos’s net satisfaction rating improved to -7 from -15 in March, although it remained in negative territory.
Taken together, the surveys showed Duterte continuing to post the highest satisfaction rating among the country’s top elected officials even as her impeachment trial proceeds before the Senate.
SWS interviewed 1,200 adults nationwide through face-to-face interviews from 20 to 29 June. The survey had a margin of error of ±3 percentage points for national estimates.
