The AboitizPower and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Mariveles conducted the two-day Standard First Aid training for 65 youth leaders at the Romalaines Seafood Restaurant at Brgy. Alas-asin in the town of Mariveles, Bataan on 1 July 2026.
According to AboitizPower's private limited partnerships GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin (GNPD), the said training is part of the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month.
The company showed support for the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiative, in coordination with the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) of Mariveles.
The training gathered 65 youth volunteers from various youth organizations under the LYDC. The objective of the program was to equip these young leaders with essential first aid skills and disaster preparedness knowledge, enabling them to respond effectively during emergencies and actively contribute to building safer, more resilient communities.
Over the course of two days, MDRRMO Mariveles trainers provided hands-on instruction and theoretical knowledge covering the proper administration of primary and secondary emergency care.
Participants mastered protocols for responding to diverse emergency situations and learned life-saving techniques to stabilize individuals while waiting for professional medical responders to arrive on the scene.
To help them apply their newly acquired skills in real-world situations, the participants were equipped with essential tokens, including First Aid kits and tumblers.
This initiative reflects the continuous mission of MDRRMO Mariveles and its partners to foster a culture of preparedness, ensuring that even the younger demographic is highly capable of responding to crises.
"Sa bawat kabataang natutong magbigay ng tamang paunang lunas, mas marami tayong buhay na maaaring mailigtas," MDRRMO Mariveles said in their Facebook page.
MDRRMO Mariveles expressed its heartfelt gratitude to AboitizPower GMEC and GNPD, the Mariveles LYDC, and all the youth participants who demonstrated outstanding dedication to mastering these life-saving skills.
By empowering the youth, GMEC, GNPD, and the local government of Mariveles continue to pave the way toward a highly prepared, resilient, and compassionate community.
