A suspected high-value drug personality was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City late Friday, with authorities seizing about P375,000 worth of suspected shabu.
Operatives of the Caloocan City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the 22-year-old suspect, a tricycle driver, along Remedios Street in Barangay 180 at about 11 p.m.
Police recovered three plastic sachets containing about 55.11 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P374,748, based on Dangerous Drugs Board valuation.
Also seized were the suspect's motorcycle, a photocopy of its certificate of registration, one genuine P500 bill used in the buy-bust operation, and 27 pieces of boodle money.
The suspect remains in police custody while investigators prepare charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the arrest forms part of the police campaign against high-value drug personalities operating in Metro Manila.
"The NCRPO remains committed to running after listed drug personalities in the region. Every high-value target on our watchlist will be relentlessly pursued and held accountable under the law," Aberin said.
