Renewal of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearances can now be completed in as little as five minutes following the launch of the NBI eClearance service integrated into the eGovPH Super App.
In partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the NBI formally unveiled the new digital service on Monday at its headquarters in Pasay City.
First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, NBI Director Atty. Melvin A. Matibag, DICT Secretary Henry R. Aguda, DICT Undersecretary David L. Almirol Jr., and other government officials attended the launch.
Through the integration of NBI eClearance into the eGovPH Super App, eligible users can now renew their NBI clearances online without the need to visit NBI offices, significantly reducing processing time and eliminating long queues.
The platform allows users to retrieve, renew, and access a digital copy of their NBI clearance through a secure and interoperable government system, making the service available anytime and anywhere.
NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the initiative marks a major step in modernizing the bureau’s public services.
He said the initiative goes beyond technology and reflects the bureau’s vision of a modern NBI that embraces innovation, improves operational efficiency, and places citizens at the center of government service delivery.
Matibag added that, with the integration, verified eGovPH users can now access NBI clearance services through a secure, interoperable platform.
The new system provides clients with faster, more convenient, and more transparent service by allowing them to renew and access their clearances digitally.
Matibag credited the project’s success to the collaboration between the NBI and the DICT, saying the interoperability between the eGovPH Super App and the NBI Clearance System demonstrates how technology can improve the delivery of public services while protecting the security and integrity of government systems.
The initiative forms part of the government’s digital transformation program aimed at making public services more accessible, efficient, and citizen-centered under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative.
