A total of 1,000 low-income families in Rizal province have received land titles under the Marcos administration’s flagship housing program, ending a decades-long wait for legal land tenure, Malacañang announced Monday.
The beneficiaries, formerly classified as informal settlers, received their Transfer Certificates of Title during an awarding ceremony led by the Social Housing Finance Corp.
“Informal settlers no more,” Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said during a press briefing. “Because under the president’s expanded 4PH program, more Filipinos are achieving their dream titles.”
The distribution included more than 200 beneficiaries from the San Isidro Labrador Homeowners Association and over 800 residents from Sitio Santo Niño in Antipolo.
“For some beneficiaries, they waited more than 25 years to achieve their dream of a land title,” Castro said, stressing the long-standing struggle of the recipients before the government intervention.
The Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH) is implemented through the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.
Officials cited that the agency, under Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, has intensified efforts to accelerate land tenure security and housing delivery.
Castro framed the initiative as a component of the administration’s broader social protection and poverty alleviation efforts rather than just basic land distribution.
The latest batch of land titles underscores the ongoing rollout of the 4PH program, which remains a centerpiece of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s social welfare agenda aimed at reducing the country’s housing backlog and securing property rights for marginalized families.
