Globe strengthened its network in Tacloban City to provide reliable connectivity during this year's Sangyaw Festival, enabling residents, tourists, businesses, and organizers to stay connected throughout the celebration.
The telecommunications company said its network of more than 50 cell sites, including over 25 5G-enabled sites, helped accommodate increased mobile data demand during the festival's Parade of Lights, cultural performances, concerts, food fairs, and other community activities.
To further boost network capacity in high-traffic areas, Globe deployed Cellsites on Wheels at strategic locations, complementing its existing infrastructure and helping ensure uninterrupted mobile service.
"Festivals like Sangyaw showcase the spirit, culture, and resilience of Tacloban and its people. We are proud to support this important celebration by providing reliable connectivity that helps residents, visitors, businesses, and organizers stay connected," said Jimbo Cordero, Globe general manager for Visayas.
Beyond connectivity, Globe also supported the event through on-ground activities, including festival booths, customer assistance, and displays featuring its GFiber Prepaid service, which offers fiber internet without lock-in periods or fixed monthly fees.
The company said its participation reflects its commitment to supporting communities through reliable digital connectivity and technology-enabled experiences.
