Ferrari has named Massimiliano Di Silvestre as chief marketing and commercial officer, with the appointment taking effect on 1 July 2026.
Di Silvestre will join Ferrari’s Leadership Team and will report directly to chief executive officer Benedetto Vigna. He takes over from Enrico Galliera, who is leaving the role after more than 16 years with the company.
Ferrari said Galliera had already informed the company of his decision to begin another chapter in his career. The carmaker did not disclose his next role.
Galliera leaves after a long run in one of Ferrari’s most visible business posts. His work covered the commercial side of the brand at a time when Ferrari continued to protect its position in the high-end car market while growing its global reach.
Vigna thanked Galliera for his years with the company and credited him for his role in Ferrari’s growth and wider brand presence. He also said Galliera leaves with the gratitude of the Ferrari team.
Di Silvestre arrives at Ferrari with more than 20 years of experience in the premium and luxury automotive sector. His most recent major role was President and chief executive officer of BMW Group Italy, which Ferrari described as one of BMW’s most important markets worldwide.
His background includes work in commercial development, business transformation and management of complex organizations across international markets.
That experience now places him in charge of Ferrari’s marketing and commercial direction at a time when the brand continues to balance exclusivity, demand and expansion.
The appointment also puts another industry veteran close to Ferrari’s top decision-making table. Di Silvestre will work directly under Vigna, who has led Ferrari through a period that includes a wider push into new technologies and a broader business plan beyond traditional sports cars.
Ferrari did not announce any changes to its brand strategy along with the appointment. The company framed Di Silvestre’s arrival as part of its next stage of growth, with Vigna pointing to his international background and leadership experience.
The change comes from the commercial side rather than the factory floor, but it still carries weight. Ferrari’s business depends as much on discipline as it does on desire.
The company sells some of the world’s most wanted cars, but it also keeps tight control over volume, customer access and brand image.
That makes the marketing and commercial post more than a sales job. It sits at the center of how Ferrari reaches buyers, protects its name and decides how far the brand can grow without losing what makes it different.
Di Silvestre now steps into that role as Ferrari prepares for a new chapter under Vigna’s leadership. Galliera exits after more than a decade and a half in Maranello, while Ferrari brings in a new commercial chief from another major European luxury car group.
