The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Monday reported a 43 percent decline in Metro Manila's eight focus crimes after intensifying anti-crime operations from 22 to 28 June.
During the weeklong campaign, police seized P13.47 million worth of illegal drugs, arrested 328 drug suspects, captured 298 wanted persons, apprehended 530 illegal gambling violators, and recovered 63 loose firearms.
The anti-illegal drugs campaign yielded the biggest gains, with authorities confiscating 1,978.45 grams of shabu, 63.61 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 6.08 grams of kush, two vape devices containing marijuana oil, and other prohibited substances with a total standard drug price of P13,473,713.20.
Police also arrested 103 most wanted persons and 195 other wanted persons through intensified manhunt operations.
Meanwhile, anti-illegal gambling operations resulted in the arrest of 530 violators and the seizure of P134,481 in gambling proceeds. Authorities also arrested 62 individuals and confiscated 63 loose firearms.
The NCRPO said the operations translated into a significant reduction in crime, with the eight focus crimes dropping from 138 cases during the same period in 2025 to 78 cases this year.
Among the biggest decreases were carnapping of motor vehicles, which dropped by 100 percent, homicide by 75 percent, rape by 67 percent, robbery by 53 percent, murder and physical injuries by 50 percent each, motorcycle carnapping by 50 percent, and theft by 28 percent.
NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the results demonstrate the effectiveness of enhanced managing police operations.
"These accomplishments demonstrate that intelligence-driven policing, disciplined execution, and operational accountability create sustained pressure against criminality," Aberin said.
