Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) has been recognized among the Asia-Pacific's leading specialized hospitals, ranking first among Philippine hospitals in endocrinology and gastroenterology in the Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 rankings by Newsweek and Statista.
The annual rankings recognize hospitals across the region that demonstrate excellence in 10 specialties: cardiology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, and pulmonology.
Aside from topping the country in endocrinology and gastroenterology, MakatiMed also placed among the Philippines' top three hospitals in cardiac surgery, cardiology, and pediatrics.
Makati Medical Center Interim Co-President and CEO and Medical Director Dr. Saturnino P. Javier said the recognition reflects the hospital's commitment to strengthening its multidisciplinary expertise and delivering specialized, compassionate patient care.
MakatiMed is also one of only two Philippine hospitals included in the World's Best Hospitals 2026 global rankings, placing among the top 250 hospitals worldwide.
The global ranking, also compiled by Newsweek and Statista, covers hospitals from 32 countries and marks the first time Philippine hospitals have been included in the list.
