The agreement was formalized on 31 March 2026 between SBMA and developer Simon & Stanley International Trading and Development Co. Inc., led by SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño and hotel chairman and CEO Jaime 'Jack' Uy.

Architect Jayson Steffen Uy said the expansion will add 120 rooms, commercial spaces, restaurants, parks, and a three-level parking facility. The project, with an initial investment of P587.97 million, will be considered both a new building and an extension of the existing hotel.

Uy said the design phase is expected to be completed within the year or by early next year, with construction targeted to begin as early as the first quarter of 2027. He added that the company plans to source manpower locally from Subic.

Officials from SBMA, including Director Ted Del Rosario, Senior Deputy Administrator Renato Lee III, and Senior Deputy Administrator Ramon O. Agregado, witnessed the signing.

Aliño welcomed the project, citing the growing demand for hotels in the Subic Bay Freeport and the expected boost in employment opportunities.

The Best Western Plus Hotel Subic, a four-star property along Dewey Avenue, is the first internationally branded hotel in the freeport and is located near key commercial hubs such as Harbor Point and SM City Olongapo.
