Actress Glaiza De Castro carried a heartfelt piece of her personal life with her when she stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 Gawad Pilipino Babae Ka Awards.
The custom barong she wore — designed by Filipino designer Daryl Maat — wasn’t just a fashion statement: it was adorned with the handwritten love notes her husband David Rainey has left her over the years, a romantic touch she revealed on Instagram.
According to De Castro, David has often left small notes on pieces of paper throughout their relationship. “So, when I found these notes in pad paper, I thought of messaging Daryl to see what he [could] create with them,” she wrote online.
The finished piece, which she dubbed Mga Sulat ni David, served as a “reminder that simple things can bring so much joy.”
She thanked the designer for bringing her vision to life and sent a sweet message to her husband: “And to my mahal, you never fail to surprise me.”
De Castro and Rainey first wed in October 2021 in Northern Ireland and later celebrated with a second ceremony in Zambales two years afterward.
