Philippine National Police (PNP) officials announced Sunday that a series of intelligence-led operations over the last 48 hours resulted in the arrest of 11 high-priority fugitives and the seizure of illegal drugs valued at P47.7 million.
The arrested individuals face various charges, including murder, human trafficking, rape, and firearms violations. Among those taken into custody were a national-level most wanted person linked to trafficking and estafa, and a regional-level fugitive wanted for murder.
“We will continue pursuing those who threaten public safety, but we will always do so with respect for due process and human rights,” PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement.
The anti-drug operations included the arrest of several high-value targets and the confiscation of 696 grams of suspected shabu worth P4.7 million. Additionally, law enforcement teams dismantled marijuana plantations in Ilocos Sur and Benguet, destroying thousands of plants and dried leaves with an estimated street value of P43 million.
