ACMobility, the Ayala Group’s mobility arm and leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions and infrastructure in the country, has introduced an instructional initiative called the Drive Electric EV Safety Program to inform motorists across the country about electric vehicles.
The program, designed for anyone interested in EVs, among them EV advocates, prospective buyers, fleet operators and the general public, aims to dispel common misconceptions about EVs by providing practical and accessible knowledge on EV technology and charging infrastructure.
A primary focus centers on answering everyday concerns about battery technology. Many local drivers hesitate to switch because of misconceptions about battery performance, charging procedures, and overall vehicle road safety.
ACMobility intends to resolve those hesitations by sharing direct technical instruction, operating guidelines, and safe usage practices.
Professional automotive instructors helped organize the lessons into five specific learning modules.
The training modules teach participants how EV technology functions, how to charge vehicles safely, and what emergency protocols to follow during unexpected road incidents. The classes also examine the financial side of electric vehicle ownership.
Instructors break down the total cost of ownership, everyday operational expenses, and long-term maintenance savings so motorists can evaluate the economics of switching away from conventional fuel.
By sharing comprehensive safety guidelines on EVs, ownership economics, and information on charging infrastructure, the program empowers consumers to make informed decisions about transitioning to electric mobility.
“As we continue to build an end-to-end electric mobility ecosystem, our ultimate priority is to empower the Filipino driver to make the shift to a more sustainable and cost-effective transport option. We are taking on the commitment to spread EV safety awareness through the Drive Electric. EV Safety Program, which aims to equip Filipinos with practical tools and accessible technical knowledge on EVs,” Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, chief executive officer of ACMobility, said.
Drive Electric. EV Safety Program was designed alongside professional instruction partners and developed in close alignment with key public and private entities, including the Department of Energy, Bureau of Fire Protection, Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines, and the Philippine EV Community.
The program covers a comprehensive five-module curriculum that addresses key questions on EV safety and ownership.
It delivers clear guidance on fundamental EV concepts by tackling total cost of ownership, long-term EV savings, safe charging, emergency protocols, and EV technology.
After the launch, ACMobility will roll out a series of targeted educational seminars across the country to Filipinos interested in making the switch to electric mobility.
The program will expand through various phases, including corporate sessions, community workshops, and interactive showcases during major industry gatherings.
These future sessions will combine technical learning with hands-on test drive opportunities, giving broader audiences direct access to electric vehicles and expert guidance.
ACMobility manages vehicle sales and servicing for several automotive brands. The company serves as the official distributor and importer for Kia, handling gas, hybrid and battery electric vehicles across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The company also operates select dealerships for BYD and Kia, manages the largest Isuzu dealer network in the country, retails luxury electric vehicles under the Denza brand, and runs the Bosch Car Service workshop franchise to provide mechanical repairs across different powertrains.
