The defense team of Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday night said that they have been informed of the filing of the fourth impeachment complaint.

"The successive filing of complaints does not, by mere repetition, transform allegations into truth," Duterte's legal team said in a statement.

"As with the previous complaints, we will address the allegations fully and at the proper time, in accordance with the Constitution and the applicable rules," the legal team added.

The fourth impeachment complaint was filed against Duterte hours after she announced her intent to run for president in the 2028 national elections.

It was filed by lawyer Nathaniel Cabrera before the Office of the House Secretary General on Wednesday over alleged culpable violation of the Constitution, betrayal of public trust, graft and corruption, and other high crimes.

The fourth complaint was endorsed by House Deputy Speaker Francisco Paolo Ortega V and Manila City 6th District Representative Bienvenido Abante Jr.
