First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) announced that Collins Aerospace, a member of US-based aerospace conglomerate RTX Corporation, is expanding its footprint at FPIP in Tanauan City, Batangas.
The US firm signed a new agreement with FPIP on 8 January.
In a statement on Thursday, FPIP said the expansion will add 7,846 square meters to Collins Aerospace’s existing facility at the industrial park, allowing the company to improve operational efficiency, increase production output, and meet rising demand in the aerospace sector.
The new facility is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2026.
Collins Aerospace manufactures airplane cabin interior products, including galleys, galley inserts, lavatories, and seating systems.
The company recently manufactured new economy class seats for the newly refurbished Philippine Airlines Airbus A321ceo fleet.
“FPIP has been instrumental as Collins has incrementally grown its Philippine-based operations, capabilities, and expertise since 2012,” said Mary DeStaffan, general manager of Collins Aerospace’s Philippine campus. “This growth is critical for Collins to best support the rapidly growing aviation industry in-country and region, as well as airliners and airframers around the globe.”
Yutaro Kuryu, FPIP senior vice president and head of the industrial business group, said the expansion reflects both rising demand and the industrial park’s capacity to support growth.
“This expansion marks a major milestone for both Collins Aerospace and FPIP. It not only reflects the growing demand for advanced aerospace manufacturing in the country. It also highlights FPIP’s ability to support companies like Collins Aerospace in growing operations while generating employment for Filipinos,” Kuryu said.
Kuryu added that the expansion goes beyond additional space and scale.
“It is about the impact they are helping the Philippines make in the global aerospace industry, and more importantly, the opportunities they are creating for the Filipino workforce. Rest assured, we will continue to support them in every way we can,” she added.
FPIP is a 600-hectare industrial park developed in 1996 through a joint venture between First Philippine Holdings Corporation and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation. It hosts more than 150 locators and employs nearly 80,000 workers.
The park provides industrial space, ready-built factories, commercial areas, and office facilities.
RTX is the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, operating through Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon.
