Members of the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) in the House of Representatives have formally adopted the party’s legislative agenda for the 20th Congress, expressing confidence that the proposed measures can be advanced as House priority bills through broad, cross-party cooperation.

The party aims to secure at least 150 principal authors per bill as it strategizes partnerships with other political parties in the House to ensure the swift deliberation and passage of priority measures.

Lakas-CMD members unanimously approved the agenda following an appeal by Leyte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, who called on party colleagues to act with unity and discipline in pushing the administration’s legislative priorities.

In a statement, Romualdez rallied Lakas lawmakers to advance President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s priority bills under the leadership of Speaker Faustino G. Dy III, stressing that the chamber is firmly aligned in acting on measures endorsed by the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC).

“The House is under the leadership of Speaker Bojie Dy, who is steering the chamber in acting on the President’s priority measures,” said Romualdez, Lakas-CMD president. “Unity, discipline, and cooperation across party lines are essential if we are to translate the administration’s agenda into concrete laws.”

Romualdez said Lakas-CMD is committed to working closely with all party leaders in the House to ensure that priority bills move efficiently through the legislative process.

“As legislators, our foremost responsibility is to pass laws that directly improve the lives of our people,” he said. “Lakas-CMD is fully committed to supporting the President’s legislative priorities and to working constructively with Speaker Dy and all party leaders in the House.”

He also underscored the importance of coordination within House leadership, citing the role of House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander Marcos in managing the legislative calendar and consolidating majority support for priority measures.

Romualdez said that, as representative of Leyte’s First District, his focus remains on substantive lawmaking—measures that promote inclusive growth, protect public welfare, and support long-term national development—while contributing to the collective effort of advancing the administration’s program.

“With limited time and a heavy legislative workload, what matters most is that we stay focused on laws that deliver real, tangible benefits to Filipinos,” he said. “This is how we help shape the enduring legacy of this administration.”

He also called on the media to give due attention to the House’s legislative work and policy outcomes, stressing that informed public discourse on priority measures is vital to strengthening public trust in democratic institutions.

The statement was issued as Romualdez reaffirmed his readiness to work closely with Speaker Dy, the House majority leader, and colleagues across the political spectrum to advance the President’s priority legislative agenda.

Lakas-CMD leaders said the adopted agenda is anchored on easing the cost of living, improving access to essential services, strengthening food security, and protecting public health—issues that weigh most heavily on ordinary Filipino families.
