Tubong Marinduque ang ina ni Cholo Laurel. Siya ay nag-aral sa London Academy for Film and TV noong 2007 at nakilala sa industriya sa pamamagitan ng pelikulang Nasaan Ka Man, na pinagbidahan nina Claudine Barretto, Jericho Rosales, at Diether Ocampo. Ito ay umani ng Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) award noong 2006.
Ang pelikula ay pinamagatang Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon, tampok ang mga primyadong aktor na sina Jodi Sta. Maria at Agot Isidro. Ipapalabas ito worldwide sa ika-13 ng Agosto.
