Is God using Trump to punish America?

It has been observed by analysts, even in Western media, that the American empire is declining rapidly in direct proportion to the rise of China, the “replacement” global power, ever since Trump became US president for the second time.

Trump is seen as the visible cause of America’s rapid decline by: 1) alienating itself from the rest of the world through “tariff wars” as a trade weapon, which, like nuclear war, is “a war with no winners”; 2) creating tariff wars that damage the US economy itself; 3) triggering a looming US debt crisis and the potential decline of the US dollar as a global currency; and 4) increasing deficit spending to desperately maintain global supremacy, even as China leads by far in key areas of technological and military advancement.

In truth, China may already have overtaken US supremacy in both military and economic sectors, or at least in certain key areas. In fact, some American geopolitical experts, such as Professor Jeffrey Sachs, claim that America will self-destruct even without China lifting a finger.

Is God then using Trump to punish America, and for what “sins”? Is it because America has one of the highest abortion rates per capita worldwide? The legalized killing of unborn babies is viewed by some as a form of genocide. This is on top of another, more sinister form of genocide — that of the Palestinian people.

The possible future loss of the first US aircraft carrier, long a symbol of American invincibility and supremacy, may happen sooner than expected, as weapons technology in missiles and drones has advanced by leaps and bounds in just one decade. This could signal the beginning of the fall of the American empire.

Theoretically, new missiles and drones can take out a carrier in a “saturation attack.” If the US fails to jam incoming missiles and drones, or if China first jams US defense systems, it may mark the beginning of the end for American dominance. China could launch a false attack of decoys to exhaust US defenses before unleashing a real, all-out strike. In other words, the next full-blown US-China confrontation — whether in Taiwan or the Middle East — will determine the winner, if they are not both losers.

This applies not only to military conflict. In the financial and economic war, the US has critical weaknesses that could lead to total defeat. The US debt crisis, estimated at about $36 trillion in 2025 according to American experts, may be the catalyst for a severe economic meltdown. In such a collapse, even the elite and middle class could suffer massive losses, with millions of homeowners potentially joining the ranks of the homeless. A US meltdown could easily trigger a global one.

The current protracted, continent-wide super blizzards are seen by some as a sign of divine punishment. In the early stages, about half of the states in continental America declared emergency situations. Millions of homeless people living in cars, electric vehicles and tents have reached saturation levels. The number of lives lost may rise rapidly without relief. This is occurring at the same time Russia is experiencing a similar winter tragedy, described as “the first in 200 years.”

God’s wrath in the days of the Old Testament pales in comparison in terms of scale — the flood in Noah’s time, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Babylonian exile, when the Jews were conquered and enslaved again after being freed in the Exodus from Egypt. Today, the scale involves millions of people.

We turn to prayer to the Lord for forgiveness and mercy in our hour of great need.
