Some P800,000-worth of substandard consumer products were confiscated while two suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on 4 February 2026.

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit 3, their operatives and the Nueva Ecija Provincial Field Unit (PFU) conducted the said buy-bust operation that also led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Cholo and Oscar.

The two are residents of Cabanatuan City and were caught in the act of selling substandard consumer products to a police officer acting as a poseur-buyer, in violation of Articles 10, 18, and 77 of Republic Act No. 7394, otherwise known as the Consumer Act of the Philippines.

Confiscated during the buy-bust operation were twelve pieces of BTS-1740 Brodu audio speakers and fifty pieces of LED multifunctional lithium lamp tubes, which served as buy-bust items, as well as one genuine One Thousand Peso bill used as marked money, twenty-nine One Thousand Peso bills as boodle money, and one sales invoice receipt.

Further seized in plain view were sixty-eight assorted Brodu audio speakers, with the confiscated items totaling P800,000.
