Police arrested a 22-year-old man after he was allegedly found carrying a loaded, undocumented firearm while walking along 10th Avenue.
Roving officers from the Caloocan City Police accosted the suspect after he reportedly began acting suspiciously upon noticing the patrol. Following what officials described as “police instinct,” officers conducted a body search and discovered a 9mm handgun loaded with live ammunition inside the man’s bag.
The suspect was unable to provide legal documentation or a permit for the weapon, leading to his immediate arrest.
Authorities conducted an on-site inventory of the seized items in the presence of barangay officials and media representatives, as required by law.
The firearm has been submitted for verification to determine if the suspect is a licensed holder, as well as for ballistic testing to confirm its functionality. Police also stated the weapon will undergo cross-matching to see if it was used in any previous criminal incidents.
