Kaye Emana became the latest Filipino bet to suffer an early exit in the Philippine Women’s Open as she suffered a 1-7, 0-6 loss to world No. 174 Tatiana Prozorova of Russia in the Round of 32 on Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

The University of Santo Tomas standout was outmatched as she lasted 42 minutes in her Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) debut.

WIth Emana joining Tennielle Madis and Eizabeth Abarquez, world No. 49 Alex Eala is the last Filipino standing in this prestigious competition supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Lawn Tennis Association.

It was still a sureeal moment for the 22-year-old Emana as she felt goosebumps in playing against Porozova.

Of course, I’m happy. I got the chance to play in a tournament like this—it’s international, so I’m really grateful just to be part of it,” Emana said.
