A man was killed and another was wounded in a stabbing incident Sunday night, 25 January, in Riverside, Barangay Sto. Niño, San Mateo, Rizal province.
Based on the initial investigation, the victims and the suspect were drinking together until they became intoxicated. In the middle of their conversation, a heated argument broke out that led to stabbing.
The suspect suddenly drew a knife and repeatedly stabbed victim number one in the chest. He also stabbed victim number two multiple times on his stomach. After the crime, the suspect quickly fled in an unknown direction.
The victims were immediately rushed to Amang Rodriguez Hospital in Marikina City. Unfortunately, victim number one was declared dead on arrival due to chest wounds. Meanwhile, victim number two remains in the operating room and is in critical condition.
The remains of the deceased victim are scheduled to be transferred to Ka Andres Funeral Homes for an autopsy.
Currently, the San Mateo Municipal Police Station is conducting follow-up operations and a manhunt to arrest the suspect who is facing charges of homicide and frustrated homicide.
