Domestic workers in Metro Manila are set to receive a pay increase starting February, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).

Under Wage Order No. NCR-DW-06 dated 15 January 2026, the current P7,000 monthly minimum wage for domestic helpers in the National Capital Region will be raised to P7,800. The adjustment will take effect on 7 February 2026, or 15 days after the wage order’s circulation.

"Existing socio-economic conditions in the region, the needs of the domestic workers and their families, as well as the employers’ capacity to pay, the Board deemed it necessary to increase the prevailing minimum wage rates for domestic workers," the wage order read.

The wage hike applies to domestic workers under live-in or live-out arrangements, including general househelpers, nannies, cooks, gardeners, laundry workers, and those who regularly perform domestic work in one household on an occupational basis.

Family drivers, service providers, and workers hired on an occasional basis are not covered by the adjustment.

The increase follows the recent P50 hike in the daily minimum wage of workers in the National Capital Region.
