The controversial flood control project in Barangay Candating in the town of Arayat collapsed again earlier today, 23 January, affecting 16 houses in the process.
The said P183-million flood control project has raised concerns among residents of Barangay Candating, who fear that further damage could affect other houses in the area.
According to Mayor Jeffrey Luriz, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is monitoring the site, adding that the local government is coordinating with the contractor of the said project for immediate repairs. Eddmari Construction and Trading is the contractor of the said project.
Mayor Luriz inspected the area along with LDRRMO Head Jeff Venzon and Barangay Captain Marly Pineda.
The mayor also spoke with the Provincial Engineer and concerned government agencies regarding the immediate repair of the flood control project.
