Lady warden’s precious pet

The big fish in the metropolis’ largest jail facility continues to enjoy perks courtesy of its lady warden.
Nosy Tarsee’s informers at the jail say the big fish, aside from enjoying an air-conditioned cell, his favorite food (provided he pays for it), and visitors at any hour, has a staff member who sleeps with him in his cell, maybe in case he has a nightmare.
The lady warden also designated, let’s call him “Insp. E.M.,” to see to all the needs of the special detainees, including those from the Department of Public Works and Highways who also enjoy some perks.
Insp. E.M., informers say, frequents the cell of a person deprived of liberty from the DPWH who is a bit chubby but a heavyweight like the big fish. The PDL is also a heavy in terms of the money he pocketed from flood control projects.
Insp. E.M. earns extra money from guarding this former DPWH engineer called “Mr. H.” They share lunch and dinner in his cell. Sometimes, Insp. E.M. joins a PDL senator who has a knee problem, or the big fish, for dinner.
Insp. E.M. also has the mobile numbers of the big-time PDLs so they can call him anytime for whatever they might need.
The other officers on duty (OD), aside from Insp. E.M., also enjoy the same perks from the high-value PDLs.
Cash from these big-time PDLs also allegedly reaches the lady warden.
The department secretary overseeing these government personnel described this information to Nosy Tarsee as “fake news,” saying they have CCTVs around the jail.
Nosy Tarsee’s informants, however, say the CCTVs are focused only on the corridors, not the detention cells where things happen.
They said the big fish are boasting that the marathon hearings on their cases are meant to help them get bail or an acquittal, and to give them grounds to argue double jeopardy should cases be filed against them by the next administration.
