Former senator Bong Revilla Jr. reacted to the arrest warrant ordered by the Sandiganbayan for malversation in connection with the alleged P92.8-million anomalous flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
In a Facebook video, Revilla said it "appears that there was no due process” but confirmed that he is ready to face the charges.
“Alam kong hindi ako pababayaan ng Diyos dahil wala po akong kasalanan dito (I know that God will not abandon me because I have no wrongdoing in this),” he said.
Revilla also asked for prayers from the public, expressing the pain the case has caused him and his family.
“Napakasakit po para sa akin at para sa aking pamilya (This is very painful for me and for my family),” he added.
Aside from Revilla, the same charges were also issued against former DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office (DEO) assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez; former DPWH Bulacan First DEO engineers Jaypee Mendoza, Arjay Domasig, and Emelita Juat; former DPWH Bulacan First DEO finance section chief Juanito Mendoza; and DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office cashier Christina Pineda.
