Globe adds ‘earn-as-you-use’ rewards with TBH collab

Globe is rolling out a new rewards feature inside its GlobeOne app that lets subscribers earn digital credits not only by topping up or spending, but simply by using the app.

The initiative comes through a partnership with The Binary Holdings (TBH), which is integrating its OneWave engagement system into GlobeOne.

The idea is straightforward: play games, watch content, shop, and take part in other in-app activities — then earn BNRY Digital Credits in return.

Traditional telco loyalty programs are built around transactions: the more you load, subscribe, or spend, the more rewards you get.

OneWave shifts that equation. Instead of limiting rewards to paying behavior, it pushes an “earn-as-you-use” model where time and engagement can also translate into credits.

Globe said it is betting that Filipino users — already among the world’s heaviest mobile consumers — will respond to a rewards setup that values usage, not just purchases.

TBH CEO Manit Parikh framed the concept as a leveling mechanism: a low-spend subscriber who actively uses GlobeOne can potentially earn as much as a high-spending subscriber who barely engages.

The BNRY Digital Credits act like digital loyalty points inside GlobeOne. Users accumulate credits through selected activities such as gaming, content engagement, and shopping within the app ecosystem.

TBH said the credits operate under a treasury policy and are tracked on-chain — meaning recorded using blockchain-based infrastructure — to allow transparency and auditability.

Credits are meant to be redeemable for goods and services within the ecosystem, with Globe and partner offerings positioned as possible redemption options in future expansions.

Behind the scenes, TBH’s “Binary Network” serves as the ledger that records and validates transactions tied to credit issuance and redemption.

Rather than GlobeOne functioning as a utility app mainly for billing and promos, OneWave positions it as a place where people can spend time and get something back.
