Police intensified a crackdown Thursday on motorists using illegal and excessively loud exhaust systems, warning that the modified parts disrupt public peace and safety.
The Taguig City Police said the enforcement campaign targets drivers who deliberately modify their vehicles to create noise, which violates existing traffic and noise regulations. Authorities said the loud exhausts have become a significant disturbance to local residents.
Department officials said the renewed effort aims to protect the community from unnecessary noise and maintain order on city streets. Police stressed that public roads should not be used to annoy or provoke the public.
“The law will be enforced strictly and fairly,” the department said in a statement, adding that violators will face penalties with no exemptions or special treatment.
Police urged all motorists to comply with vehicle regulations, noting that discipline and respect for the law are essential to maintaining safety within the city.
