A 19-year-old woman from Antipolo City was found shot dead inside her room in an apparent suicide, police said Saturday.

The victim was identified only as alias Mishka, college student, and a resident of Nayong Silangan, Barangay Dalig, Antipolo City.

Initial investigation showed that about 9:30 P.M. Friday, based on the statement of the victim's father, upon arriving at their house, he noticed that his daughter’s bedroom door was closed.

Using a key, he opened the room and discovered his daughter lying on the floor with blood scattered therein and a firearm found beside her.

The father immediately brought his daughter to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

During the said procedure, police investigators recovered one firearm, twelve live rounds of ammunition, and one fired cartridge case.

Further examination of the area revealed that all valuable items inside the residence were intact and showed no apparent signs of forcible entry or foul play.

Subsequently, the immediate family of the victim manifested that they are no longer inclined to pursue an in-depth investigation and voluntarily executed a Waiver, signifying their decision not to pursue further legal action.

Further verification revealed that the recovered firearm is a caliber 9mm pistol, with a valid license until 3 January 2033, and is registered under the name of the victim's father.
