Marvel Television has unveiled a brand-new trailer and first-look stills for its upcoming series Wonder Man, an eight-episode comedy-drama created by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: Brand New Day) and Andrew Guest (Community, Hawkeye).
The series stars Emmy Award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, an aspiring actor struggling to break through in Hollywood, alongside Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, reprising his fan-favorite role as the endlessly theatrical Trevor Slattery (Iron Man 3, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, All Hail the King).
When Simon crosses paths with Trevor — an actor whose glory days may be behind him — both see a shot at reinvention after learning that legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film Wonder Man. As the two chase life-changing roles from opposite ends of their careers, the series offers a sharp, self-aware look behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.
All eight episodes of Wonder Man begin streaming 28 January, exclusively on Disney+.
