The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Friday said passenger traffic at ports nationwide is beginning to pick up.
From 6 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, the PCG monitored a total of 64,408 outbound passengers and 52,243 inbound passengers across all ports nationwide.
The PCG also reported that its 16 districts inspected 395 vessels and 887 motorbancas during the same period.
The agency has placed its districts, stations, and sub-stations on heightened alert from 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 to manage the anticipated surge in port passengers during the holiday travel period.
“The seafaring public may coordinate with the PCG through its official Facebook page or the Coast Guard Public Affairs Service (0927-560-7729) for inquiries, concerns, and clarifications regarding sea travel protocols and regulations,” the PCG said.
