

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has detained eight personnel of the Eastern Police District's drug enforcement unit for alleged robbery during the anti-illegal drugs operation in Pasig City on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at around 2:05 PM in Barangay Palatiw, while the involved police personnel were conducting an anti-illegal drugs operation in the area.
According to initial reports, the personnel allegedly entered a residential house in search of a suspected drug personality, during which the occupants later reported the alleged taking of personal belongings, prompting them to seek police assistance.
The complaint was immediately acted upon by the Pasig City Police Station. During verification, no official documents were presented to support the conduct of a legitimate anti-illegal drugs operation.
The suspects involved were immediately placed under police custody at the Pasig City Police Station and are set to undergo inquest proceedings. Likewise, the eight police personnel were disarmed of their service firearms.
NCRPO chief P/Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin reiterated that the NCRPO maintains a firm policy against any form of abuse of authority, misconduct, or deviation from police operational procedures.
