As part of its ongoing commitment to uplifting communities, Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC) recently partnered with the Arnold Janssen (AJ) Kalinga Foundation, Inc.  for the latter’s “Kain, Aral, Ligo Nang Umayos” (KALINGA) Program — an initiative that restores dignity, care, and connection to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Last 10 December 2025, AIC launched its first “Care that Creates Brighter Days” activity at AJ Kalinga Foundation in Sta. Cruz, Manila, meeting the foundation’s in-house volunteers — formerly homeless individuals who are now preparing to graduate from the foundation’s nurturing program.

Opening doors toward renewed purpose

Their stories of transformation, resilience, and service added meaningful perspective to the experience, showing how compassion and structured support can open doors toward renewed purpose.

“At Aboitiz InfraCapital, we believe that simple acts of care can uplift lives, and our partnership with the AJ Kalinga Foundation reflects our commitment to supporting communities with dignity and compassion,” said AIC head of People & Culture Maylene R. Briones.

Established in 2017, the AJ Kalinga Foundation envisions a society where the lives of the homeless and the wounded are recreated and empowered, and considers its mission to provide dignified, systematic, and holistic care to the homeless and the wounded.

Small, meaningful interactions

For the outreach proper, AIC TMs immersed themselves in the KALINGA’s core activities: Assisting beneficiaries in the bath queue, offering light coaching and heartfelt conversations, reinforcing the foundation’s culture of care, and serving meals with warmth and respect. These small but meaningful interactions emphasized the program’s belief that dignity begins with being seen, heard, and cared for.

To help brighten the beneficiaries’ day, AIC TMs also shared simple donations, including coffee, chocolate drinks, and hygiene essentials such as body wash — tokens of comfort that supported their immediate needs.

Through Care that Creates Brighter Days, AIC  reaffirms its commitment to creating positive impact. This also aligns with AIC’s Shared Value Creation Framework, which enables self-sufficient, empowered, and progressive communities by investing in human capital, creating employment opportunities and taking care of the environment.

Kindness can spark hope

This outreach further reflects AIC’s belief that even small acts of kindness can spark hope, strengthen communities, and uplift lives — one meaningful connection at a time.
