Authorities confiscated 200 grams of suspected shabu worth more than P1.3 million from two alleged drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Cainta, Rizal, on Sunday night.
The suspects, classified by police as high-value individuals on the drug watchlist, were identified only by their aliases “Tres” and “Bornok,” both residents of the municipality.
They were arrested in an operation conducted by operatives of the Cainta Municipal Police Station’s drug enforcement team, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, in front of a convenience store inside Vista Verde Country Homes, Barangay Sto. Domingo, at around 7:20 p.m.
Seized from the suspects were two knot-tied plastic sachets and seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, all containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing about 200 grams with an estimated standard drug price value of P1,360,000.
Also confiscated were one caliber .22 revolver without a serial number, four rounds of caliber .22 live ammunition, a sling bag, P500 in recovered money, and P1,500 in marked drug money.
The suspects are currently detained at the Cainta Municipal Police Station custodial facility and will be charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
