The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) makes the holiday season more festive with its annual community-wide celebration, “EXTRO.” Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life, the festivities commenced with the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree at the Design + Arts Campus as a symbolic start to a season of warmth, generosity, and Benildean unity.
The series of events included a Christmas drive and gift-giving of toys to children from neighboring communities, as well as a belen festival, wherein families from various partner barangays created sustainable nativity scene installations, which they paraded around the college’s vicinity. Among the highlights of the fete were the Christmas Radio featuring student-artist DJs, and a Christmas concert with performances from DJ Eros, the Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company-Hiphop, shadowplay group Karilyo, bossa nova specialist King Alvaro, violinist-pianist Jaydee, and Filipino bands IÚNO, fitterkarma and HEY JUNE!
