

Makati police have arrested the suspect in a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in the early hours of 14 December 2025, in Barangay Singkamas, authorities said.
The stabbing took place at around 2:40 a.m. in front of Moonlit Suites along Aranda Street, resulting in the death of the victim, identified by the alias “Daniela,” who sustained multiple stab wounds.
Initial investigation showed that the suspect, known by the alias “Franz,” also of legal age and the victim’s former boyfriend, was involved in an altercation with the victim inside her residence. Police said the suspect stabbed the victim for reasons still under investigation before fleeing the scene aboard a motorcycle.
A joint follow-up operation was immediately launched under the supervision of Makati Police Chief PCOL Pedro A. Alagano Jr., with personnel from the Investigation and Detective Management Section and Olympia Sub-Station 1, led by PMaj. Edison Mabaet.
Through intensified information gathering and coordination, police were able to locate a witness, a friend of the victim who was inside the residence at the time of the incident. The witness positively identified the suspect after recognizing him from photographs on the victim’s social media account.
The identification led to a manhunt and hot pursuit operation conducted in coordination with other police units. The suspect was eventually tracked and arrested in Angono, Rizal.
Police also recovered a white Honda motorcycle believed to have been used as the suspect’s getaway vehicle.
Authorities said a charge for murder will be filed against the suspect, with the case to be referred to the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings.
Makati Mayor Nancy Binay expressed full support for the police’s swift action, reiterating the city government’s commitment to public safety and justice. She also extended her condolences to the victim’s family and assured them of the city’s continued cooperation to ensure accountability and due process.
