National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Commissioner Rafael Vicente R. Calinisan on Monday commended the Philippine National Police–Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) for a successful anti-illegal drug operation that led to the arrest of five high-value targets and the seizure of nearly P176 million worth of illegal drugs in Taguig City.
The operation was conducted on Saturday, 13 December, in Barangay Napindan, where PDEG operatives confiscated 25.5 kilograms of suspected shabu, 1,770 grams of suspected kush or high-grade marijuana, and 140 green self-sealing e-cigarettes containing marijuana oil.
Authorities estimated the total standard drug price of the seized contraband at P176.265 million.
“I commended the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group for its continuing drive against illegal drugs. These operations reflect the dedication and professionalism of law enforcement officers who risk their lives to protect communities,” Calinisan said.
The five suspects are currently under the custody of the PDEG Special Operations Unit, while all confiscated evidence has been turned over to the PNP Forensic Group for proper examination and documentation.
Calinisan reiterated NAPOLCOM’s full support for the PNP’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs, stressing that accountability, integrity, and adherence to the rule of law remain the core principles of effective policing.
