Anti-narcotics operatives of the Antipolo Component City Police Station arrested a high-value drug suspect in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Inarawan, Antipolo City on Thursday night.
Authorities seized approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P340,000, along with a grenade and a firearm during the operation.
Rizal Police Provincial Director P/Col. Feloteo Gonzalgo identified the suspect by the alias “Jamal,” 42, a resident of Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City.
The suspect has long been included on the list of high-value individuals allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.
The anti-illegal drug operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Confiscated items included 11 sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised shotgun pistol, four shotgun shells, a hand grenade, a bonnet mask, buy-bust and boodle money, and a black motorcycle allegedly used in the transaction.
Gonzalgo emphasized the importance of sustained anti-drug operations, noting that authorities will not hesitate to pursue individuals who threaten peace and order in the province.
The suspect is currently detained at the Antipolo Component City Police Station custodial facility and will face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act No. 9516 or the law regulating firearms, ammunition, explosives, and weapons.
