The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) anticipates more than 3 million passengers will pass through its facility during the Christmas travel rush this year, the terminal management said Sunday.

In a radio interview, Jason Salvador, PITX Corporate Communications and Government Relations head, disclosed that the large volume of travelers is expected to move through the terminal between 19 December and 5 January 2026 as they head home for the holidays.

Salvador suggested that the long weekend following Christmas may help to distribute the high volume of commuters more evenly.

He cited that the number of passengers has steadily increased since the Covid-19 pandemic and added that the newly opened Asia World LRT station has made traveling to PITX more convenient.

All trips at the terminal are currently available, though many passengers have already booked their tickets in advance.

Salvador said PITX is focusing on monitoring the supply of buses, ensuring passenger safety and security, and keeping a close watch on unauthorized increases in bus fares.

“As early as now, we are coordinating with stakeholders and government regulators to ensure there will be no travel disruptions throughout the holiday season,” he said.
