Several netizens expressed disgust over the apparent “meltdown” of former Commission on Elections Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, who was seen shouting at and berating a couple after they reprimanded her for not covering her mouth while coughing inside the Rockwell Power Plant Mall in Makati City on Saturday.

The viral video, which has already earned millions of views, shows an irate Guanzon shouting, pointing fingers, and cursing at the couple for what she described as an “injustice” committed against her.

“If you are sick, you two should go home! Why are you here if you are sick? Who is this, is this your husband (asking the Chinese-looking man)? He is stupid, an ignoramus. Put….$#^*. Hindi ka nga naka-rolex, naka Gucci. Ako pa pinili mo? What’s your name?” Guanzon said.

She also accused the couple of being “matapobre.”

In the video, the woman is seen talking to Guanzon, apparently explaining their side, while the Chinese-looking man stood silently, seemingly stunned by the former Comelec official’s outburst.

“Ako pa ang pinili mo? No, I want your name, get his name,” Guanzon continued, pointing at the man.

Netizens on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram quickly reacted, criticizing Guanzon’s behavior as ill-mannered and unbecoming of a former public official.

“Rowena Guanzon was not merely a nuisance; she is a deeper rot eating away at our public life… The grotesque arrogance and feral lack of civility… must never be dismissed as ‘normal behavior,’” user Vincents wrote on X.

He added that Guanzon’s actions could constitute “public scandal and civil liability,” saying the victims and mall administrators would be within their rights to pursue legal action.

In a separate video posted Sunday, Guanzon said she was “okay” but experienced high blood pressure Saturday night. She insisted that she could not allow “injustice” toward her to pass.

“Hindi naman pwedeng palampasin yun kapag inaalipusta ka na… Hindi naman ako nagagalit kung hindi sukdulan ang injustice,” she said, adding that someone had told her, “you’re coughing, you should leave the mall and stay at home.”

“Ipinagtatanggol ko nga ang ibang tao kapag ginaganon sila, sarili ko pa kaya?… Napahiya talaga ako dun sa ginawa ng taong yun. Sabihan ka ba naman ‘Don’t you have money to buy a mask?’” she added, noting that she filed cases of unjust vexation and grave oral defamation on Saturday night.
