Authorities dismantled a drug den and arrested its alleged operator and two accomplices during a buy-bust operation Saturday in Barangay Calapacuan, Subic Town.
The operation, conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Zambales Provincial Office in collaboration with local police, resulted in the apprehension of 49-year-old “Beloy,” the suspected drug den operator. Her alleged accomplices were identified as “Vie,” a 54-year-old woman, and “Jon,” a 23-year-old man, according to the PDEA.
Operating teams recovered seven plastic sachets containing approximately 17 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P115,600. Authorities also seized assorted drug paraphernalia, one cellular phone and the marked buy-bust money.
Beloy faces charges for the non-bailable offenses of selling dangerous drugs and maintaining a drug den under Sections 5 and 6 of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Appropriate charges under the same law will be filed against Vie and Jon.
In a separate operation Friday night in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, PDEA dismantled another makeshift drug den, leading to the arrest of four drug suspects.
That operation yielded roughly 10 grams of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and marked money.
All suspects arrested in both operations are currently detained at the PDEA Regional Office 3 jail facility in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
