Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday thanked overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), recognizing their sacrifices and contributions.
In her message for this year's Overseas Filipinos Month, Duterte extended her heartfelt greetings to all OFWs and their families.
"This Overseas Filipinos Month, we honor your contributions that strengthen our nation," Duterte said.
"You travel and work across different continents, sending remittances that uplift millions of families and develop our economy, which builds a bridge of hope," the Vice President added.
Duterte said the path OFWs are on is not easy—far from family, different cultures, and homesickness—but they continue to strive, and show resilience and honor.
"You are the heartbeat of the global Filipino pride, showcasing Filipino talent and values worldwide," she said.
Duterte also called on the government and communities to strengthen support systems, better consular services, mental health resources, and reintegration programs to ensure OFWs' rights are protected, and their sacrifices are recognized.
"For the families left behind, you are the pillar of love and strength. Your own sacrifice and resilience are the source of inspiration and courage for every Overseas Filipino Worker," she said.
"Together, let us build a future where every Overseas Filipino Worker can return with dignity and fully fulfill their dreams," the Vice President added.
