A New York City Christmas wouldn’t be complete without the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Here’s a look at this year’s stunning tree and some facts you might not know.

How tall is it?
This year’s Norway spruce stands 75 feet tall, spans 45 feet in diameter, and weighs around 11 tons. For comparison, last year’s tree measured 74 feet tall and 43 feet wide. The tallest tree ever displayed at Rockefeller Center was a 100-foot Norway spruce from Killingworth, Connecticut, in 1999.

Where is it from?
The tree was generously donated by the Russ family of East Greenbush, New York, who planted it about 60 years ago. It was transported from upstate New York and arrived at the plaza on 8 November 2025.

How many lights?
More than 50,000 multicolored LED lights adorn the towering spruce. At its peak sits a dazzling Swarovski star, weighing 900 pounds, measuring 9 feet 4 inches in diameter, and featuring 70 spikes encrusted with three million Swarovski crystals.
