The Local Government Unit of General Santos City (LGU Gensan) has suspended classes in all levels — both public and private — this Friday, 14 November 2025. The move follows the recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) amid persistent rainfall affecting the area.
According to LGU Gensan, the ongoing unfavorable weather poses potential risks to students and school personnel, prompting authorities to implement precautionary measures to ensure public safety. The suspension applies to all educational institutions within the city.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and closely monitor weather updates, especially those in flood-prone and low-lying communities. The city government also reminds the public to follow official announcements through the verified Facebook pages of Tatak Heneral and the CDRRMO.
As heavy rains continue to affect several parts of Mindanao, LGU Gensan reiterated its commitment to proactive disaster response and community protection.
