The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have been providing assistance to the people throughout the recent onslaught of super typhoon “Uwan.”
On Monday, the PCG gave free rides to stranded passengers from Taft Avenue to Araneta Center, Cubao and back, dubbing the aid ‘Uwan for All, All for Uwan.”
According to the PCG, the program aims to assure Filipinos that the Coast Guard stands with them in all seasons, whether under the summer sun or during the rainy season.
“This is proof that the PCG not only serves at sea, but is ready to help on land to ease the journey of our countrymen affected by the severe weather. Thank you very much for your continued trust. Let us travel together towards a safe, smooth, and comfortable journey, and together let us promote a New Philippines, in accordance with the aspirations of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” the PCG said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Acting PNP Chief, Police Lt, General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., underscored coordination, empathy, and readiness in the aftermath of the storm.
Nartatez visited the PNP Command Center (PCC) on Monday morning to oversee ongoing monitoring and post typhoon response operations across the country.
Together with Police Col. Ramon Pranada, Chief of the PCC, Nartatez reviewed reports from regional offices and units deployed in affected areas, underscoring the PNP leadership’s continued vigilance, ensuring that recovery, relief, and security operations remain well coordinated and responsive to the needs of the communities.
