Mayor Jon Lazatin has ordered the removal of the Giant Christmas Lanterns that adorn Angeles City ahead of Super Typhoon Uwan’s approach.
The order aims to protect motorists and residents from potential hazards posed by the heavy winds and rain.
Meanwhile, the covered court of Rafael Lazatin Memorial High School (RLLMHS) in Balibago has been prepared as an evacuation center. Modular tents installed by the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) ensure safe and organized temporary shelter for those who may need it.
Each barangay in Angeles City has a designated evacuation center, while the main city evacuation center is located in Barangay Mining.
The move is part of the city’s ongoing preparedness measures under Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II to ensure readiness ahead of Typhoon Uwan.
