Magic Maids, presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Goethe-Institut Philippinen, is a dance and ritual performance about the shared struggles of Southeast Asian domestic workers and women accused of witchcraft. It runs from 7 to 9 November 2025 at the Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (CCP Black Box Theater).

The 80-minute work by choreographers Eisa Jocson and Venuri Perera uses the broom as both prop and metaphor. The show compares the lives of maids and witches, exploring how women in the Global South continue to face control and exploitation.

Jocson from the Philippines and Perera from Sri Lanka draw on their own backgrounds to tell these stories through dance and ritual, bringing their distinct cultural perspectives to the work.

On 9 November at 11 a.m., they will conduct Broomology 101, a workshop at the TIG Lobby that uses the broom as a tool for movement and reflection.

Showtimes are 7 and 8 November at 5 p.m. and 9 November at 8 p.m. Tickets cost P600 for regular audiences and P300 for students with valid ID.
