COTABATO CITY — The governors of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have issued a collective statement expressing their full support for Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” A. Macacua during the extended transition period of the Bangsamoro government.
In their joint declaration, the governors commended Macacua’s strong, inclusive, and unifying leadership, which they said has fostered greater cooperation and a shared vision for peace and progress across the region.
“Under his steady and inclusive leadership, we have witnessed renewed unity, collaboration, and a collective purpose in advancing peace and development in the Bangsamoro,” the statement read.
The regional leaders also recognized Macacua’s commitment to good governance and his efforts to strengthen coordination with local government units (LGUs), saying these have reinforced their determination to work together for the welfare of the Bangsamoro people.
“We reaffirm our collective trust and confidence in Chief Minister Macacua’s leadership — a partnership we vow to uphold as we move forward in sustaining the gains of peace and development in BARMM,” the governors added.
The statement concluded with an appeal to all Bangsamoro citizens to stand united behind the government’s pursuit of meaningful autonomy and lasting peace in the region.
This show of solidarity comes as BARMM continues to navigate its extended transition period, with the goal of building stronger institutions and ensuring a smooth path toward full self-governance.
